Our Team

yhsA was founded in 2004 by Yap Hock Seong and Tee Chee Heong, , drawing on professional experience gained in Sydney and London. Over time, the elevation of senior home grown talents Chester Chen, Loh Chi Kong, and Lin Sooi Thing to shareholders has shaped the practice into a five director studio. Today, the firm is recognised for architecture that balances design clarity with strong technical discipline. The directors are supported by a team of about 25, largely comprising LAM Part 3 and Part 2 Architects.

We value quality over quantity. Two to three directors are involved in every project, offering close guidance and mentoring while drawing on their respective strengths. Each team member works on no more than two projects at a time, allowing for greater focus and depth of resolution. This approach is reinforced by a strong studio culture founded on organisation, trust, and teamwork.

We work hard and also come together beyond the studio.
